Chicago Ice Damming and Frozen Pipes

The frigid arctic vortex has resulted in water damage to many Chicago homes and commercial buildings. Our SERVPRO crew is working on drying the void above this drop ceiling affected by thawing ice from pipes and damming at the roof's edge. The polypropylene sheeting reduces the treatment area for drying while protecting office furnishings and electronics from water damage caused by excess humidity. We suggest property owners provide sufficient attic insulation to control temperature and also to insulate exterior and crawlspace plumbing to prevent frozen pipes. But, we are here if you need us!
